Scholarship/Scholarsweeps
Eligibility
Q. Who's eligible for the TMA scholarship?
A. Females 18 years old or over by the date specified on the rules page, who are officially enrolled in a 4-year college in the current fall semester, whose most recent GPA (high school or college) is at least 3.0 on a 4.0 scale. Please see the rules page for complete details.
Q. I think your criteria are unfair. Why can't I enter if I turn 18 a day after the deadline?
A. 18-years-old is a commonly used age standard for scholarships. We made June 23 the cut off point to be sure our winners are 18 years old when the money is applied to their college tuition, and to keep the amount of entries manageable. It also ensures us that our entrants have graduated from high school. Please try again next year.
Q. Why can't I register if I'm going to be attending a two-year college?
A. The CALGON TMA Scholarship is intended to help those who are on the path to a bachelors degree. There's no doubt two-year colleges offer great education, but they are generally a stepping stone to a four-year degree. You are encouraged to enter the $500 Scholarsweeps program.
Q. Why are only females eligible?
A. Females constitute our main audience and are the predominant users of CALGON products. In order to reward our main users and to keep the amount of entries manageable, we have limited the Scholarship to females only. However, males are encouraged to enter Scholarsweeps.
Q. Why do I have to have a certain GPA?
A. CALGON likes to encourage academic excellence. What better way than to reward those students who have proven their commitment to excellence with good grades? Remember, there is no GPA requirement to enter Scholarsweeps.
Q. I'm a graduate student at a four-year college or university. Am I eligible for the TMA Scholarship?
A. Sorry, as per our official rules only students enrolled in a four-year accredited undergraduate college or university program are eligible.
